Look what I’ve got!
This super cool Smart Trike 4-in-1 Dream has made the walk to and from school so much better! Before this little piece of awesome arrived on my doorstep I had to either run behind Xanthe trying to keep up or walk ahead yelling “hurry up”.as she stopped to jump in puddles and smell weeds. The stroller bored her and the bike she got for her 2nd birthday is a bit too advanced for her and has no steering lock which makes it hilariously frustrating trying to get anywhere.
This little baby has that much needed steering lock, meaning that I am steering the trike in the correct direction with the parent handle, while Xanthe is twisting the handle bars all over the place while chatting to imaginary people on the on-board phone.
Xanthe loves it. So much more fun than the stroller. The parent handle is adjustable so that it is perfect for me, my much taller husband and even big brother Millar can have a go pushing it.
When Xanthe learns to steer the trike and pedal consistently, I’ll be able to remove the parent handle and it will become a standard tricycle, so this will last for some time yet.
The smart trike is actually good from around 10months of age and is able to grow with your child.
Check out this video to see how cool this trike is and how it grows with your child.
The guy in the video says it takes only a minute to put this together. It took a bit longer for me. The trickiest part for me was the steering lock thingo. That little whatsit needs to click down. I could not get it to click and didn’t want to continue trying to force it. So the first few times we used it, the steering lock did not work properly. I had hubby look at it and after consulting the instructions and pushing really, really hard, the thing clicked into place and all is well.
But apart from that assembly issue, I love every little thing about this trike. From the parent pouch – handy for keys and phone, to the drink bottle holder so Xanthe can carry her own drink.
I imagine we’ll be loving this trike for at least another year. And to think we could have gotten another 18months use out of it if we had have had it since Xanthe’s first birthday.
