The lovely people at havoc denim have sent me two pairs of brightly coloured kids shorts from their summer range. They look pretty good on my kids. Check out the range of fun kids denim here. I LOVE the colours.
As the shorts are slim fit, they tend not to fit Xanthe’s nappy clad bum very well so they keep riding low. I’m looking forward to her wearing them when she’s out of nappies. Millar is a very small four and a half year old. These shorts are more like 3/4 pants on him, but are still slim through the thigh and hips. There is an adjustable waist which is very handy. Millar commented on how soft they were. He loves them.
Check out the cute blingy detail on the girls shorts.
I’m sure these will last a few years on my kids and still be ok to hand down to a friend.

I was at a friend’s house earlier this week. This friend is a new mum to a beautiful almost 6 month old baby girl.
My friend is also really busy as she has just bought a business and what with that and all the mum stuff it’s a bit hectic.
While I was there we were talking about immunisations which reminded her to check when the baby’s next lot were due. Lucky she checked, they were due in two days time, so it was a mad panic to rearrange people and things to accommodate this.
If she had the new Bupa Family Moments App, it would have alerted her to the upcoming needle appointment sooner. The app, from insurer Bupa was only just released this week – as if my friend’s mad panic sent a wish out into the universe and wham! there’s now an app for that!
But it doesn’t just take care of remembering immunisation appointments for you. You can also use it as a reference tool to check all those parenting questions. Like, how many hours, ideally, should my toddler be sleeping, and what, ideally, should my preschooler be eating. I’ll give you a clue, the answer to the first one is much more than she is and the second one is not nutella sandwiches with no crusts.
You can also chart your little one’s growth, just like they do in the health nurse books, but much prettier.
You can add photos and notes to capture precious moments too.
Then you can share this info with your selected elite group of family and friends or you can share it with the world on Facebook.
Best thing? the app is FREE.
If you are a Bupa member you can also have a time lapse photography thingo which is pretty cool! If you are not a Bupa member, you can pay $4.49 and add it on. It’s pretty nifty! I so wish I had this five years ago! I saw this thing on Pinterest once where these people had taken a photo of their baby sitting in the same chair from day one to about age five. AMAZING. I would totally do that with this app. It would be easy peasy and totally awesome. Maybe I should have another baby… (bahahahahaha)
Because I haven’t had the app since Millar was born, we did a quick vid of about 5 photos to show the Time Cam app in action. Obviously this would be way more awesome if you took a photo of your baby almost every day from birth to age two. How cool would that be?
You can WIN this iPod Touch. Or actually, one exactly like it in the gorgeous blue that matches my son’s top.

I saw this movie on my first date! I was just a kid and I loved this movie so much and particularly this scene. I made it my ultimate goal in life to have a big piano on the floor in my future home.
I haven’t quite gotten to the full size built in piano of my dreams yet, but I did just buy a Zippy Mat Gigantic Keyboard from OO.com.au and I LOVE it.
It has ten demo songs, so you can pretend you can play realllly well to impress guests and it has eight different instrument sounds you can chose from, so you can play Fur Elise on guitar or November Rain on accordion if the mood strikes.
The only thing I don’t like is that the default volume is LOUD, so every time it turns on it’s with a burst of loud piano keys and you have to be quick footed on the volume buttons to shush it to a more acceptable level. My kids think this is hilarious.
The kids love to run the length of it on their toes, hitting every key as fast as possible. They also like to lie on it.
The lovely people at OO.com.au gave me the $50 it cost to buy it and have it shipped to me. I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived on the Monday. Pretty good eh?
But I’m not just writing this to rub my awesome giant piano in your face, I am giving you the chance to win your own $50 to spend online with OO.com.au
Tell me in the comments below what you think is the best thing about online shopping and my favourite answer will win the $AUD50 voucher code.
OO.com.au ships to both Australia and New Zealand so this giveaway is open to both countries. Shipping to NZ may attract a higher shipping cost. The voucher will still be to the value of $50 Aussie though. I have used OO.com.au before to send gifts to the rellies. Sweet as bro.
Entries close on Wednesday 31st October. The winner will be announced on Thursday 1st November and emailed the super secret code to use at the checkout to get the $50.
One entry per person please
Disclaimer: OO.com.au gave me one $50 voucher code to use for myself and one to giveaway to one of you lovely people. All opinions are my own and I really do like the giant keyboard. I am more than happy to spruik the services of OO.com.au because I truly honestly use their services with my own money from time to time.
I was really excited to be invited to the ENJO bloggers event in July because I had just spent six months in India, isolated from my blogging friends and I was desperate to see some people. I didn’t know what ENJO was and didn’t really care, I just need to see my people.
But after seeing ENJO in action at the event, and being given a bag of products to use, I am converted. The event was held at a gorgeous house. One of those amazing homes that people rent out for film crews and the like. Now obviously if you have this type of home you make sure it is spotless the days that you have people using it. It sure looked spick and span, but we watched Barb from ENJO demonstrating the kitchen glove on the white kitchen island. It showed that the bench only looked clean. eww. Touching the bench after Barb cleaned it, I could also feel the difference. The uncleaned part felt gritty but my finger glided (glode glade?) over the part that Barb had cleaned.
The thing I love most about ENJO is that it is cleaning without chemicals. You only need water and the magical fibres of the product to clean your home. Sounds like a fairy tale, I know, but I saw this in action and was supremely impressed.
Here I am on video talking about the event. I hate being filmed, can you tell? Oh and how horrible is that freeze frame?
I like to add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to my water spray bottle, mainly for the smell. I like a clean eucy smell.
But for those of you that cannot bare the thought of cleaning with only water, ENJO have teamed up with environmentally friendly Method for soaps derived from natural ingredients.
I also love how environmentally friendly it is to use ENJO, not just the chemical free part, but in my pre ENJO life, I would go through at least one sponge or chux a week in my kitchen alone. All of this goes straight to landfill. Not with ENJO. No more sponges and no more chux.
I have seen first hand what it’s like to live among piles of rubbish and I am now determined to do what I can to reduce waste. I don’t ever want Australia to look like India.
Obviously buying ENJO is not as cheap as buying a sponge from the supermarket, but it lasts a LOT longer than disposable sponges and can be chucked in the wash. ENJO say they last for two years. I had read comments that people have been using theirs for up to six years! Pretty good really. That’s one less aisle in the supermarket I have to walk down too!
ENJO is only available through ENJOpreneurs – so you can have an ENJO home demo, or go to one.. or become a consultant and make piles of cash working your own hours – like Tupperware, but less plastic-y.
At the moment I am in love with my green kitchen mini and all purpose cloth. The first time I used the mini was to wipe the kitchen bench in our new rental house when we first moved in. I was amazed at the white cream cleanser residue it cleaned off! Yuck! I then used it to clean the oven because it smelled like Mr Muscle when I turned it on. With just water and the kitchen mini, my oven was back to smelling of nothing – which is what it should smell like. I will never use an oven cleaner again.
Anyway, blah blah! Cleaning is boring, even if you have awesome products to help you. Reading about cleaning is also boring – so please don’t leave just yet! I’ve told you how awesome ENJO products are for your house – and I know there are still sceptics out there, so I recommend you just put “ENJO” into the search box on youtube and see some amazing demos with bacteria readings and science and stuff. Because watching poeple clean is way more fun than doing your own cleaning.
ENJO also do body products. Yeah, you can get clean too! This is great for people with sensitive skin. The fibres clean and exfoliate. I must admit, I have only just started using the body products because it’s hard to break cleaning rituals of a lifetime. But already my favourite product is the mini face-offs.
The first time I used the mini face offs, I didn’t actually have any make up on, but my face felt amazingly smooth afterwards! Just with water and the face offs. Make sure you wash them before use though, to get rid of any loose fibres. Wash them in a laudry bag and they can be chucked in with your other items. The fibres come in their own little laundry bag, so you don’t even have to go and buy one.
Take care of these fibres and they will last a really really long time and you can feel smooth and shiny and smug about saving the environment.
