My baby girl loves to dance.
On Friday night I put on Mary Poppins and she was so inspired to dance that she ran around with a piece of fabric twirling and dancing. Then she tripped on the fabric and hit her head on a chair causing a very nasty lump and bruise to appear. She is a bit of a clumsy dancer, perhaps taking after me with a life of dancing injuries ahead of her.
After she had finished crying – total of about three minutes – she started dancing again. Just like that. While I started getting things ready for bed she managed to dance her way off the large bed, again hitting her head. I had to turn off Mary Poppins. That woman and her chimney sweep friend are a bad influence on my tiny accident prone dancer.
Bedtime has been replaced by dance time too. Xanthe used to go to bed at 7pm. But since we got to Mumbai, she has refused her 7pm bedtime instead preferring to dance in the light of the nightlight while her brother sleeps soundly in the same room. She eventually settles down at about 10pm to rest those twinkling toes. Perhaps she is rehearsing for a Bollywood audition.
Today Millar and Husband went to the shop so Xanthe and I watched Toy Story 3. Millar doesn’t like it because Spanish Buzz freaks him out. Seriously. He even woke up from a nightmare one night yelling, “No! I don’t want to watch Toy Story 3”. But anyway, Xanthe loves it so we watch it whenever Millar is out.
At the end of the movie Jesse the cowgirl dances with Buzz to a Spanish version of the Toy Story song “You Got a Friend in Me”, at which point Xanthe finds Millar’s Buzz Lightyear toy and dances with him, spinning him around and around just like on the TV.
My tiny dancer is a bit cute like that.
I might have to get her a helmet though.

She is definitely taking after her mother.
Trust you to make a post with a title like that hilarious
I was expecting all kinds of mushiness and sentimentality. It just shows how much I trust you that I clicked over…
My kids aren’t very fond of Spanish Buzz either… Latinophobes?
haha!! Tomorrow’s post will be mushy and sentimental. I’m warning you now. It’s about my kids again. Someone might accuse me of being a mummy blogger – oh the horror!
That’s so cute.
Ellie loves to dance too, but for her it’s just sort of running around in a circle while music happens to be playing. LOL
So cute Toushka!
