Every mum knows that when it’s quiet it means either the kids aren’t there or they are up to no good. I have illustrated this before Here.
So, yesterday when I noticed that Xanthe was rather quiet I immediately thought the worst but I found her like this.
I thought, awww, that’s better than the up-to-no-good kind of quiet! And I picked her up gently and put her into bed.. removing the pencil from her grasp of course..
Hang on, back up… Pencil in her grasp…
I returned to the room she fell asleep in and found this mural.
So I have now learnt that the up to no good when quiet thing still applies. Even if they fall asleep like angels afterwards.

And it was only pencil…
we sacrificed a small eraser to get rid of it. Much easier than the texta drawings in other areas of the apartment.
